- Barbara Collins, M.A., RP
Barbara Collins is a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Art Therapist with 15 years experience providing individual and group art therapy to children, youth, and adults. Barbara utilizes an art-based approach and is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She works from a Positive Psychology, trauma-informed lens providing a non-judgemental and safe place for clients to increase self-awareness while externalizing their emotional pain and developing effective coping skills to regain control in their life.

Ben Hesch is a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years experience in the field. He has previously worked in health settings, providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Ben is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Encounter-Centred Couples Therapy, and Clinical Supervision, among others. Ben manages the Mental Health Services at Compass and currently does not provide direct therapy with clients.

Jodi Hocken is a Registered Social Worker with 10 years of experience working with children, youth, and adults in a variety of clinical settings. Working from a person centered perspective, Jodi assists clients in navigating life’s challenges with compassion and respect. Jodi has a particular interest in the process of grief and loss. She has completed trainings in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, Trauma, and Clinical Supervision.
- Sarah Sytsma, M.S.W., RSW
Sarah Sytsma is a Registered Social Worker and has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a range of settings in the Guelph- Wellington area for over 15 years. Sarah deeply values the connections formed with clients in therapy, and enjoys working with adults, adolescents, older children and couples. Sarah works predominantly using attachment-based interventions, mindfulness- based interventions, systemic and narrative therapy interventions. Sarah is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Sarah has a particular interest in complex trauma, anxiety, couples and grief work as well as providing clinical supervision for Social Workers.

Sheri Wyndham is a Registered Social Worker and has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a range of settings in the Wellington and Waterloo areas for over 22 years. Sheri has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults; she uses Narrative, Strength-based, and Solution-Focused approaches. Sheri is very holistic in her approach, taking into consideration the mind-body connection. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindful Self-Compassion Coaching, Neurofeedback, Classical and Advanced Hypnosis . Sheri also enjoys providing clinical supervision for Interns and Social Workers.

Shirley Kell is a Registered Social Worker; she has over 15 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings including child welfare, children’s mental health, addictions and schools. She has been specifically focused on children and trauma over the past 8 years. She practices from a trauma and attachment lens and comes with both Circle of Security and Connect training. Her passion is working with children and families to build resilience. She is also very excited to be returning to work at Shelldale!

Clair Bowman is a Registered Social Worker; she has a passion for working with adolescents and parents. Clair brings with her a multitude of experience as a former teacher in primary/junior settings and special education. Clair enjoys working with clients in a collaborative way to determine best therapeutic fit for their concerns; she often uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Clair specializes in working with trauma, gender-based violence, and crisis work. She is trained in trauma work, LGBT2SQ+ issues, and Narrative Therapy. Clair is passionate about supporting the Wellington community.

Casey McKay is a Registered Social Worker with over 3 years of experience in the field. She has a experience with a broad range of client presenting issues, and is passionate about working with those involved in the criminal justice system. Casey facilitates the Partner Assault Response program at Compass, and supports mandated clients to attend group or individual sessions to learn about intimate partner violence and healthy relationships.

Jeweley Smith is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). She has a experience working with individual and group psychotherapy. She brings compassion and positivity to her work with clients and helps co-create empowering change. Jeweley has experience using a variety of psychotherapeutic orientations, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behevioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Jeweley is passionate about supporting victims of gender-based violence.

Heidi has worked in the pastoral counselling field for many years, and recently returned to pursue her second masters degree. Heidi began with Compass as an intern and recently transitioned to a staff role. Heidi integrates a number of psychotherapeutic approaches as she works with her clients including Cognitive Behavioural, Narrative, Mindfulness, Family Systems and Solution-Focused. She is excited about collaboratively building strength and resilience in those who have a desire for personal change and growth. She is passionate about working with couples.

Anne Cherian is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree from University of Toronto. She completed her M.A in Psychology from University of Kerala, India, and has been practicing in the field for the past 6 years. Anne has worked with individuals, children and families in a variety of settings in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Canada. Anne is passionate about work related to trauma and the cultural aspects of healing. Anne is able to deliver psychotherapy in English and three other languages including Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil.
